The Head of the Parliament expressed his hopes that the visit of the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka "will give an incentive to the development of bilateral cooperation." He stated that the negotiations on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation would foster relations between the countries.
V.Lytvyn declared that Ukraine and Sri Lanka had a great potential for further development of cooperation in the trade-economic, tourist, and educational sectors. The Head of the Parliament believes that
celebration of the Days of Ukraine in Sri Lanka and the Days of Sri Lanka in Ukraine
will foster acquaintance with both countries.
V.Lytvyn also appreciates exchange of experience in terrorism counteraction.
The Parties deem necessary to boost inter-parliamentary cooperation at the highest level, between the political factions, committees and groups of friendship to develop bilateral cooperation.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine sent his greetings to the Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, inviting him to make an official visit to Ukraine.
In his turn, the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka invited the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to make a visit to Sri Lanka.
